The Global Conference — In Attendees’ Own Words

I found GIJC a very inspiring experience. It was exciting to finally meet so many journalists and investigators that I’d followed online, and learn from their case studies and the tools and tips they shared in their talks. I was also able to connect with a number of people who were interested in collaborating with me on future stories.

Aun Qi Koh

Al Jazeera (Malaysia)

At GIJC, I learned about new and valuable tools, particularly digital ones, that are crucial for investigations and gained the knowledge to use them effectively. Additionally, the conference connected me with a diverse network of journalists from around the world, enhancing our capacity to collaborate on cross-border investigations.

Hala Nouhad Nasreddine

Daraj (Lebanon)

I will be able to use dozens of new tools in my work, find more information for my investigations, and carry out investigations in collaboration with colleagues from other countries. I also received new inspiration, emotional motivation and energy for further work.

Irina Pankratova

The Bell (Russia)

GIJC was to me the biggest assembly of troublemakers anywhere in the world. What an explosive conference -– it allowed for true fraternity among investigative journalists, ideas sharing, networking, collaboration, learning and capacity building. I’m eternally grateful to the organizers. I’m fired up and inspired to do more investigative reporting.

Yekeen Akinwale

International Centre for Investigative Reporting (Nigeria)

The inspiring stories shared by fellow journalists about their work in challenging environments have motivated me to take on pressing issues in my own region with greater courage and determination… attending GIJC has been a transformative experience that equips me with the knowledge, skills, and international connections to excel as an investigative journalist and make a lasting impact in the field.
